This group project developed signage for a hypothetical Obon Festival in Philadelphia. The traditional Japanese festival features the release of floating paper lanterns, so the overall feel and format of the signage was designed to convey this feeling, with repeated rectangular shapes coming together to create larger forms, and transparency used to imitate the glowing paper. To create the final images, we developed scale drawings of each piece of signage, then used a combination of 3D modeling and Photoshop to drop them into photographs we had taken of the site.
This project was completed alongside my classmates Jace Arao and Walter Wilkes.
